CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE

REPORTS TO: ADMINISTRATOR

DEPARTMENT: NON-CLINICAL

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School/GED.

2. Certified Nurse Aide certified certification is required.

3. Learn basic emergency and safety techniques.

4. One full year of experience in homecare in a nursing home, hospital setting, and experience with direct client care.

5. Compassionate to elderly and disabled individuals and willing to assess the needs of the client.

6. Strong writing, communication skills, and listening skills.

7. Attends orientation as directed by the Administrator.

8. Attends professional meetings as directed by the Administrator.

9. Criminal background check as well as routine drug test is required.

10. Must have competency in providing client care.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to perform task such as bending, lifting, and standing for long period of time.

2. Ability to work scheduled hours on a weekly basis.

3. Ability to work under stressful pretenses.

4. Ability to drive and provide transportation to the client.

5. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, coworkers, and administrators.

6. Well groomed, appropriate uniform, and respectable hygiene.

7. Ability to lift more than 55-75 lbs.

8. Ability to record times effectively and efficiently for daily task sheets.

9. Ability to bend and stand for an average of 5-6 hours per​ day.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (continued)

Daily tasks and techniques for home care and personal hygiene and grooming needs:

1. Sponge, tub, or shower bath,

2. Bed bath.

3. Nail and hair care.

4. Shampoo, sink, tub, or bed

5. Oral hygiene; and

6. Toileting and eliminating.

7. Safe transfer techniques and ambulation.

8. Normal range of motion and position.

9. Adequate nutrition and fluid intake.

10. Client rights; and

11. Any other tasks that will include services rendered for home care.

May be contacted by the agency if he or she has met the following conditions:

Certified Nursing Assistant are required to pass a competency examination with a minimum score of 80%. The competency exam has content that is evaluated and includes certain criteria such as:

1. Observation, reporting, and documentation regarding a client’s status and the care or services rendered.

2. Effective Communication Skills.

3. Basic infection control procedures and instruction on universal precautions.

4. Basic elements of body functions and changes in body functions that must be reported to the Administrator/ Supervisor.

5. Maintenance of a clean, healthy, and safe environment.

6. Recognizing emergencies and having knowledge of emergency procedures.

7. Physical, emotional, and developmental needs that coincide with the client as well as being respectful to the client’s property and privacy.

DUTIES:

1. Ensure quality and safe delivery of home care services.

2. Develops and implement service plans for clients contingent upon home care policy and procedure plans are made contingent upon client’s needs.

3. All Home care documents are to be submitted to the Home Care Agencies Supervisor in a timely manner.

4. Implementing current Certified Nurse Aide services.

5. Service plans are rendered through Seek2Find Home Care Services LLC on a regular basis.

6. Clients’ assignments and reports are received from Seek2Find Home Care Services LLC Supervisor.
